SIDEBOARD GERHARD BARTELS BRUTALISM IN OAK 70er

1960s Brutalist sideboard in oak by Belgian designer Gerhard Bartels. Other successful designers
like the De Coene brothers are worth mentioning, as is this piece of furniture from this series by Gerhard Bartels.

The round and square design in the cabinet doors gives the furniture its shape, clear and simple
edges support the base and the conclusion in strict and simple form, up to the side elements.
Each door has these compartments of rectangles and circles that are evenly spaced. The design creates a relief that creates a unique shadow play. Depending on the viewing angle and the setting of the light, the thin and very clear lines create a depth and shade that is unmistakable for this furniture.
