ART NOUVEAU FLEDERMAUS DINING TABLE & CHAIRS BY JOSEF HOFFMANN FOR WITTMANN, SET OF 7
The architect Josef Hoffmann designed this Art Nouveau dining room table with 6 bat chairs. The design dates back to 1905 and was made by J.&J. performed Kohn. In the 1980s, the series was redesigned by the Wittmann company.
The dining table can be expanded with two extension leaves to form a large table that can easily seat 6 people. Hoffmann advocate of the total work of art, which is characterized by the union of architecture and interior design, with colleagues of the same name, such as Karl von Hasenauer and Otto Wagner.
Hoffmann was one of the co-founders of the Vienna Secession (including Gustav Klimt and Carl Moll). He taught in the subjects of architecture and applied arts, as well as in the metal and enamel workshops.
